Massachusetts Personal Information

Under Massachusetts data security rules, “personal information” generally includes a Massachusetts resident’s first name and last name, or first initial and last name, in combination with certain sensitive identifiers such as a Social Security number, driver’s license or state identification number, or financial account information with access credentials. Guidi Construction aims to limit the collection of this type of information unless it is necessary for a legitimate business, legal, accounting, insurance, employment, or contractual purpose.

Guidi Construction does not sell personal information.

We may share information only when reasonably necessary for legitimate business purposes, including with:

  • Subcontractors or trade professionals involved in a project
  • Vendors, suppliers, delivery companies, or material providers
  • Payment processors or billing platforms

  • Other parties with your consent or direction

When information is shared with service providers, it is shared only for the purpose of supporting business operations or completing requested services.

Data Security

Guidi Construction uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

These safeguards may include:

  • Maintaining internal procedures for protecting personal information

Massachusetts 201 CMR 17.00 establishes minimum standards for safeguarding personal information in both paper and electronic records. These standards are intended to protect security and confidentiality, reduce anticipated threats, and protect against unauthorized access or use that may create substantial harm or inconvenience to consumers.

No website, email system, form, phone, text, or electronic transmission is completely secure. Visitors should avoid sending highly sensitive information through unencrypted email or public website forms.

Data Breach Response

If Guidi Construction becomes aware of a security incident involving personal information, we will review the incident and take appropriate steps consistent with applicable law.

Massachusetts law requires businesses that own or license personal information of Massachusetts residents to notify the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation and the Massachusetts Attorney General when they know or have reason to know of a qualifying security breach.

When legally required, Guidi Construction will provide notices and take additional steps consistent with Massachusetts law.

Data Retention

Guidi Construction retains information only as long as reasonably necessary for business, project, legal, accounting, tax, insurance, warranty, dispute resolution, compliance, and recordkeeping purposes.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information, project status, contractual obligations, applicable law, and business needs.
